INTRODUCTION

Old Pilsgate Farmhouse is made for getting the gang together. Perched on the edge of the Burghley Estate, this lovingly restored smallholding strikes just the right balance - relaxed, characterful, and quietly a bit special.

Just outside Stamford, deep in the Rutland countryside, it’s a house that blends original features with modern comforts, chickens with stylish touches, and peaceful views with space for board games, bubbles, or a bit of barefoot dancing in the kitchen.

Everything’s been thought of, but nothing’s overdone. Whether you’re here to explore or simply settle in and slow down, Old Pilsgate is yours to enjoy - muddy boots welcome, dogs too (just not on the sofa, thank you kindly).

INSIDE

Old Pilsgate wears its charm lightly. Natural materials and earthy tones run throughout - from lime-plastered walls that shift with the light to wooden floors and soft, unfussy textures. Much of the furniture has been gathered slowly, piece by piece - vintage finds, handsome antiques, and a few modern luxuries thrown in for good measure.

The farmhouse has been reimagined with care, not clutter. Art and detail matter here - think local prints, simple ceramics, and shelves lined with proper coffee table books (the good ones, not just for show).

There’s a cosy sitting room with a log burner & piano, a cinema snug for slow evenings, 5 glorious bedrooms with big comfy beds, and a sun-drenched day room that spills out onto the garden.

The kitchen is the beating heart of our home - warm, generous, and built for gathering, with a traditional farmhouse stove and kitchen island. There’s also a grand dining room for special suppers.

OUTSIDE

Step outside and Old Pilsgate really opens up. A wide, striped lawn rolls out from the house - perfectly preened, with hens pottering about the edges and our laid-back pigs sunbathing in their pen like they own the place.

At the far end of the garden, you'll find the star of the show: a knockout outdoor kitchen and dining space, complete with a bespoke canopy, BBQ, and a long table made for lingering over long, lazy meals. There’s also a ping pong table, plenty of outdoor games and you can help yourself to anything growing in the greenhouse…

Whether it’s coffee in the morning sun, a spot of al fresco chopping with friends, or just watching the sky do its thing, the outside at Old Pilsgate is all about slowing down, stretching out, and staying just a little bit longer.
